The national team

Our players know that a step towards the national team is a great step forward for them. So in a certain sense, when we played a match against the national team U17, they felt as if they were playing against their own competitors. Never before did we see our players so prepared and willing to play a match.

Sadly, the match was different than what we expected. The national team played very hesitantly and waited for us to make mistakes. It was the first time we faced an organised team like this, so the players needed to adapt. I am very proud that they did well. We were, in our opinion, equally strong throughout the entire match. It was good to see our young team play with a lot of passion, and we could see more and more lessons learned in the match. Unfortunately we lost the game with 1-0 due to an unfortunate situation in the defence.

For us it was a game to be proud of. We could see a lot of progress in our players and also as a team. We are already capable of competing with the best of Djibouti in our age category. We look forward for what the future will bring.
